HOW well does the Parish Council
publicise its decisions and activities?
This brought 324 responses with one person not being aware that there is a
Parish Council.
Nearly two-thirds of people think the Parish Council
should do more to publicise its work.
In addition 69 per cent of people would like more information about the
Parish Council.
Asked if planning applications receive sufficient publicity, 197 say 'NO' and 40
say 'YES'. One suggestion is that all properties adjacent to a proposed application are notified.
 
GENERAL
OLD documents offered for a future study of the Parish include an old school photograph, a 100 year
old map and some old farm accounts.
Asked "what other items would you like local shops to stock?", 10 request newspapers and magazines. There are
four requests for medical supplies and for large packs of milk, bread and foods.
Other items mentioned are: cleaning materials, good quality fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish, small
hardware items (screws, fuses etc), toiletries, small items of haberdashery, postcards, pens, stationary,
sweets, computer hardware/software and videos.
There are requests for a baker's shop and off-license.
Asked "if a community shop was started which sold locally-made goods not sold by other shops..", 142
people are not interested, 100 people say they would help in some way, 54 people could supply goods for
sale and 21 people would help run the shop.
