The overwhelming majority of people feel the village school is important; and of the 24 children of pre-school age, 18 will be going there.

What of our young people and their future? At present:

  • 24 attend pre-schools
  • 31 attend primary schools
  • 20 attend secondary schools
  • 5 attend technical colleges
  • 8 attend universities/polytechnics

What do people age 11 and over do at present?

  • 32 are in full time education
  • 3 in a government training scheme
  • 90 employed full-time
  • 23 employed part-time
  • 48 self-employed
  • 10 unemployed
  • 50 housewives/househusbands
  • 67 retired

Ninety-five people work in the Parish, 105 work within 15 miles and 37 travel more than 15 miles to work.

The reactions of people to the proposal that some light industrial workshops should be built are as follows:

310 people answered the question and 156 are in favour, with 6 people being interested in renting or buying one, 61 people are against the proposal and the remainder expressed no opinion.
