The Eastman Family of High Bickington


William Eastman is listed in the 1878 Post Office Directory listing as being a road contractor at Small Marsh in High Bickington.

Ann Eastman was born in High Bickington in 1853 and married John Loosemore at Atherington in 1873.
They had 12 children who were all born in Atherington, William Eastman born 1st Feb 1874, who married Ann Turner of Burrington, Elizabeth Jane, Born 1st Feb 1876, who died shortly after birth, Edith Lizzie, Born 23rd Nov 1877 and died unmarried at age 18 in 1895, Albert John, Born in 1880 who died before his 1st birthday in 1881, Herbert John, Born in 1882 who married Rose A Bull, Elizabeth Ann, Born in 1884 who married Ernest George Townshend, Frederick Charles and twin Brother George Henry who were born in 1886, Frederick died age 3 in 1889 and George died the day following his birth. Alfred Henry, Born in 1889 who married Margaret Blackmore Hartnoll, John Arthur, Born in 1892 who married Agnes Heskett, Edith Annie, Born in 1896 who married Alfred Phillips and Ernest George, Born in 1899 who married Bessie Emmeline Eastman.
