Committee meeting held on August 23rd 1937

Colonel Maxwell presided.

Members present. Rev GAB Jones, R W Pitman, J Kent, W Davis, L Brownscombe, S Squire, A K Wythe, W Parker, WK Gill and Secretary.

The balance sheet was presented and it was unanimously agreed that same be accepted.

Proposed by Mr Pitman, seconded by Mr Parker that the tennis club be accepted as members of the Athletic Club. (carried)

Proposed by Mr Pitman, Seconded by Mr Parker that the County Council Agreement be sent back, and that the words Athletic club be used instead of football club, so as to include the hockey club. (carried)

Proposed by Mr Pitman, seconded by Mr Kent that Mr Whites tender of 10/- for a new gate for entrance to field be accepted. (carried)

Proposed by Mr Parker, seconded by Mr Kent that the football team enter the junior division of the North Devon League. (carried)

Proposed by Mr Pitman, seconded by Mr Kent that instead of prize money, prizes in kind be given for Hamilton cup Race, total value ten shillings. (carried)

It was agreed that the Rev Jones and R W Pitman act as judges, and Mr Ballantyre as starter for this race.

Proposed by Mr Jones seconded by Mr Davis that carnival be left over. (carried)

It was agreed that Church Hall be booked for the 8th October, 5th November and 3rd December.

Proposed by Mr Kent, seconded by Mr Davis that secretary’s travelling expenses of 4s 6d to North Devon League fixture meeting be paid by Athletic Club. (carried)

The meeting then adjourned.
