History
A 16th century thatched building presently used as a village pub. The building has been used as an Inn at times throughout its history, along with the neighbouring cottage, 'Brewery Cottage', which as its name suggests, served as the brewery to the Inn.
In more recent times, the property was split into two homes until in around 1970 it was firstly converted back to one large property and later became a restaurant and finally back to a public house. The stables at the rear of the property were converted, firstly into living accomodation for the owners and later split into a self contained house and pub toilets. The old barn at the top of the car park, (Originally the garden), remains largely unchanged although it is no longer thatched as it would originally have been. This is likely to have been where the barely, malt etc were kept when the Brewery was still in operation. We can only imagine how this local brew may have tasted.
